Supporting our children to fulfil their potential

While I’m specialised in working with children with special needs, every child has special needs and can benefit from the method.

I think of myself as a teacher rather than a therapist. My specialist skills as a Feldenkrais® practitioner are in creating the conditions for children to learn, primarily to move better by sensing themselves more clearly.

And since movement and perception underlie everything that we do, any improvements in these abilities will also support a child’s behavioural and cognitive development.

I teach by guiding a child’s attention through touch, movement and verbal cues to create new neural pathways. This is the biological basis for organic learning.

I have helped children with:

  • Learning difficulties
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Movement difficulties after accidents or surgery
  • Anxiety problems
  • Attention deficit disorder (ADHD/ADD)
  • Perception difficulties
  • Scoliosis
  • Undiagnosed developmental delays and difficulties
  • Spasticity due to accidents and premature birth
  • Brain injury
  • Childhood stroke
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Genetic disorders
  • Down syndrome
  • Congenital brain defects
  • Brachial plexus injury

Getting started

A one-to-one Feldenkrais session on a treatment table

Individual Sessions

In individual Feldenkrais Functional Integration® (FI) sessions, I’ll move you gently and slowly so your nervous system can sense new sensory connections and ways of organising yourself to move.

Group Classes

Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) classes are like moving puzzles which we are guided through verbally. This leaves us free to play while we attend to our inner world of sensation.
