Maintaining health as we grow older

Many clients end up sending their aging parents and relatives to me once they realise that this work is genuinely accessible to everybody.

As we get older, movement can start to feel like something to manage rather than enjoy. Everyday actions can take more effort, balance becomes less reliable and persistent old aches can shape how much we’re willing to engage in activities that depend on movement.

The Feldenkrais Method® can open new possibilities. With its emphasis on gentleness and attentiveness, it can help us rediscover a sense of ease in movements we may have stopped trusting.

We don’t need to be fit or flexible to begin. The work meets us exactly where we are today. Progress comes through sensing and noticing rather than efforting.

The aim isn’t to recover the body we once had, but to discover what’s still genuinely available to us now.

Maintaining independence through:

  • Improving balance
  • Prevent falls
  • Staying active
  • Lifelong learning
  • Recovering from strokes
  • Mitigating the effects of Parkinson’s disease

Getting started

A one-to-one Feldenkrais session on a treatment table

Individual Sessions

In individual Feldenkrais Functional Integration® (FI) sessions, I’ll move you gently and slowly so your nervous system can sense new sensory connections and ways of organising yourself to move.

Group Classes

Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) classes are like moving puzzles which we are guided through verbally. This leaves us free to play while we attend to our inner world of sensation.
